Thrash rhythm, modelled end to end

An SD-1 into a JCM800 into a V30 4x12, all of it captures and an IR. The arrangement the whole genre was built on.

    Noise gate, after the amp

    utility

The signal chain most thrash rhythm tone comes from, done with captures. Overdrive first as a tightener rather than a distortion, then the amp doing the work, then the cab deciding how much of it you actually hear. The gate goes after the amp capture, not before. Gating a clean DI and then distorting it gives you a gate that breathes with the picking.
