AC30/6 Top Boost — both channels jumpered
Normal and brilliant channels linked with a short patch lead, volume high enough that it is doing the compressing rather than the pedal.
How it was made
A 1965 AC30/6 with Top Boost, jumpered the old way. Cathode-biased Class AB, for what it is worth — the "Class A" thing is a marketing habit rather than a circuit description.
Volume sits where the amp starts to sag, which is most of the character here. If it sounds too compressed, that is the amp, not the model.
Captured amp-only. The A2 receptive field is long enough to catch the sag, which A1 captures of this amp generally did not.
