RAT 2 — filter past noon, into a clean Twin
The filter control runs backwards: clockwise is darker. This sits where most people never leave it.
How it was made
RAT 2, LM308 era. Distortion at 1 o'clock, filter at 2 o'clock — and the filter is a post-clipping low-pass around 500 Hz with a reversed sweep, so turning it up makes it darker, not brighter. Half the arguments about this pedal come from people expecting a tone control.
